They are just so friendly!
They are just so friendly!

In the animal world, life is far less complicated than the tangled politics that permeate human organisations and society. It’s no wonder we often hear the saying, “Dogs are faithful to the very end.”

That is—if you’ve earned their trust and friendship. When I visited a farm recently, a few dogs came over to greet me. They had found a friend, indeed.

Though I brought no food, they were content simply to be cuddled. A gentle pat or warm hug was enough to make them feel secure and joyful.

Dogs rarely show aggression unless they have been traumatised in their early years. With patience and care, they can be rehabilitated—it just takes time.

On this day, let us honour our loyal companions. International Dog Day, observed on August 26 every year, celebrates the lives of all dogs and promotes their well-being, especially by encouraging adoption from shelters. Founded in 2004 by Colleen Paige, this day raises awareness of the plight of dogs in need of loving homes.
